Learn about High Performance Computing and CyberInfrastructure (CI), for free, at your own pace, at anytime, and from anywhere! CI-Tutor is hosted by the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and supported by the National Science Foundation’s Office of Cyberinfrastructure through the Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE) project.
The VSCSE Summer School continues to be a popular choice for graduate students, post- doctoral students and professionals from academia, government and industry to gain the skills they need to leverage the power of cutting-edge computational resources.
XSEDE HPC Workshop: OpenMP (Jan. 9; 11 a.m.–5 p.m.; 223 Computer Building; register by Jan. 5)
This workshop is intended to give C and Fortran programmers a hands-on introduction to OpenMP programming. Attendees will leave with a working knowledge of how to write scalable codes using OpenMP. This event will be presented using the Wide Area Classroom(WAC) training platform. Register by Jan. 5

Supercomputing in Plain English Workshops Spring 2018 (Tuesdays from Jan. 23-May 1; 1:30 p.m.; online)
The Supercomputing in Plain English (SiPE) free workshops focus on fundamental issues of high-performance computing as they relate to science and engineering. SiPE especially targets scientists and engineers, including a mixture of undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs, faculty, staff and professionals. Attendees should have 1 semester of programming experience and/or recent coursework in any of Fortan, C, C++, or Java. Read about past SiPE workshops. Register for the Spring 2018 workshops.
